PROCEDURE FOR MAKING THE REQUEST AND RESERVING A PLACE IN THE RESIDENCE

  1. Fill in and send the reservation form that you will find on the reservation page. From January, the application period for a place for the following academic year opens.
  2. All applications received are registered by order of arrival and are given a number. With this number you have preference  to obtain a place and type of apartment.
  3. Once they confirm that you have a place at the University, which is usually around mid-July, you can book a place by contacting us so that we can confirm that you have a place in the Residence. If a week has passed since the date of awarding a place at the University you have not contacted us to confirm or not the place at the Residence, you will lose your preference on the list of places requested. If you are not awarded a place at the University in the first option and you are waiting for the second option, contact us anyway to be able to keep the application.
  4. For international program students, the place confirmation dates depend on the program. You will be notified when we receive your application.
  5. To confirm the place, a payment of €300.00 must be made and the receipt sent by email. This payment goes to the account of the deposit. The deposit is two monthly instalments of the awarded apartment.

  1. To formalize the booking the following documents will be required, as appropriate:
  • Application form duly completed.
  • Copy of DNI or Passport.
  • UPC registration
  • For foreigners, supporting document proving participation in a UPC mobility program, issued by UPC.
  • SEPA document filled in with the details of the current bank account where the receipts will be transferred (essential Spanish account). If you do not have a Spanish account, consult other forms of payment.

 

ALLOCATION AND DISTRIBUTION OF THE APARTMENTS

Criteria and distribution of the apartments:

  • The allocation of housing will be in strict order of reservation requests for rentals of 10 months. For shorter periods, except for international programs, we will have to check availability.

Formalization of the contracts:

  • The lease runs for 10 months, the same as the academic year, from September 1 until June 30 of the following year.
  • Before signing the contract, applicants admitted will need to pay the rest of the deposit 15 days before taking the apartment. This payment can be made at the offices of the residence or by bank transfer.
  • The outstanding amount will be indicated by the staff of the Residence Vila-Nova.

Disclaimers:

  • If you have been given a place at the residence and must abandon the process, booking deposit will only be returned in the following circumstances:
    • The accommodation requested is not available.
    • The person concerned has not been accepted by the University and so
    • There are no places.
  • The booking deposit will not be returned if the person concerned ceases to be without reason justified by the UPC.

 

Waiting List:

  • The residence has a waiting list open to all students who have submitted applications and have not been admitted to the first initial list. When a place becomes available, the Residence will notify interested parties on the waiting list. For this reason, please specify on the application form all those telephone numbers or e-mails where we can locate you during the month of August.
